Staying Forward

As an over thinker, I spend a lot of my days reminiscing and regretting the past, preventing myself from being able to enjoy the present and look forward into the future. One of my favorite songs, "People" by AgustD, always reassures me whenever I fall into this endless cycle.

Inspired by his song, I decided to create a piece that expressed my desire of 'staying forward.' I was reminded of a monocle, an object that people use to make their vision clearer, and a masquerade mask that is able to hide one's face and identity. In addition, I thought of a watch because when I regret things, I always wish to be able to turn back time and redo that scene again, in order to change result/outcome. Using these materials, I reconstructed the components inside a watch into a vision lens that would help me to break away from being stuck in time and look forward to the future to keep the motion of time endlessly moving.
